Poems in Shop Windows

Initiative by Mayor of Lismore
Ken Madden for All Ireland
Poetry Day 06/10/2011

My Role: Poster designs and production

"Lismore is a town that celebrates its artistic and cultural excellence in perhaps a very modest way.

From many centuries ago when it was widely accepted as a great seat of religious learning to more recent times, as some of the worlds finest musicians, singers, visual artists, writers & various other artistic practitioners, in effect, stumble upon our beautiful town we continue to ‘bask in the hush’ of it all whilst being thrilled by such gifts of creative genius.

“Poems in Shop Windows” endeavours to be an unassuming initiative bringing together the work of ten poets, either from or with strong connections to Co. Waterford, in an accessible presentation along the town’s main thoroughfare.

Opening on All Ireland Poetry Day the varied works in this event showcase distinctive writing styles along with a range of thoughts and emotions which will undoubtedly engage. They will also entertain as well as educate and I hope that this event will provide an enjoyable insight into the breath and wealth of literary excellence in our midst."
